Updated WIC Office - More Comfortable and Accommodating for Clients and Visitors
The newly renovated Lawrenceburg location of the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program recently celebrated its grand reopening. Highpoint Health, which sponsors WIC regionally, provided the funding for the remodeling.
Located at 370 Bielby Road, the clinic’s waiting room, children’s play area, anthropometrics room (for testing such as height and weight) and nutrition offices were redesigned and renovated with new flooring and windows. The restroom was also enlarged and is now ADA-compliant.
Lawrenceburg’s WIC office has a staff of seven, who work with more than 8,000 clients annually. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has had a Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children in Lawrenceburg since the 1970s.
