Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist
Occasional, varied number of hours per pay period
Evenings, includes weekend & holiday rotation
Medical Laboratory Technician registry or eligible, or Medical Technologist registry or eligible. ASCP required,or in lieu of certification, suitable clinical laboratory experience and education.
Performs pertinent tasks on the shift and in the scheduled department(s) in order to assure that quality and timely work is produced. Obtains appropriate specimens for testing to assure accurate test results. Capable of collection from all age groups including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Performs testing on all specimens in the section to provide physician with accurate results. Performs all quality control and preventive maintenance functions in order to assure quality results and maintain proper equipment function. Performs various tasks to maintain the efficiency of the department. Displays teamwork. Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, visitors, and hospital personnel as defined in the philosophy .
