Licensure as a Pharmacist by the State of Indiana. Must know uses and dosages of medicine. Position requires familiarity with pharmaceutical and chemical procedures, and techniques, weights and measures in all systems. Must understand the composition and properties of drugs, their manufacturers, uses/therapies, their pharmacological actions, physical and chemical incompatibilities and the procedures for testing their purity and strength.
Performs various duties relating to drug distribution; drug order screening for drug allergies, appropriate doses and frequencies of administration; drug incompatibilities and contraindications; maintains patient medication profiles; supervises drug repackaging and controlled substance distribution; responds and participates in Code 99/Code 100 situations; generates computer reports necessary for daily operations in the department; and any other activities as assigned by the supervisor in order to assist and contribute to the philosophy and goals of the Dearborn County Hospital Pharmacy.
